Fashion—NYFW Day 6

Hola peeps!  NYFW is still going strong and it is Day 6!  Today’s look is all about being chic and classy.  In the past the rule has been that sequins were reserved for formal events but in the fashion world rules are made to be broken.  I say they can be rocked during the day or night and dressed up or down.   I paired this skirt with a knit pullover with an embellished collar, Jimmy Choo nude pumps and flashy accessories to elevate the ensemble.  Oh you can’t do New York Fashion Week without your iPhone, so you may as well spruce that up with a Henri Bendel cover that pays homage to lady liberty herself.  Love!

I hope that you are enjoying the posts as I have tons of coverage and pics coming your way!

NYFW Day 6

NYFW- BCBG Max Azria Spring/Summer 2015

Hola!  Max Azria showed his BCBG Spring/Summer 2015 collection on Day 1 of NYFW.  It was filled with flowy dresses, culottes and kimonos all in pale and pastel tones!  I loved the look it is refreshing to designers going back to basics and nude tones after several seasons on bright colors and prints.  Take a peek and let me know what you think.

*Also don’t forget if you can’t make it to NY for the festivities keep abreast of all happenings and shows by going here –> http://newyorkfashionweeklive.com/live Enjoy!

NYFW—Deola A/W’14

Hola!  Across the pond in London fashion week has begun yet I am still giving you New York goodness here, so continue to read on.  I had the honor of attending the Deola A/W ’14 presentation during NYFW and it didn’t disappoint.  The Nigerian designer’s collection was a mixture of chic and whimsical.  I see that she pulled a bit from her heritage by using big bold prints and details.  My fave is the last dress with Nelson Mandela on it—fab!  Let me know your thoughts.

Friday Sass—NYFW Essentials

Hola peeps!  Today is the second day of one of the grandest events in the city…New York Fashion Week!  NYC is swarming with models, designers, editors, photographers and fashionistas galore.  In today’s sass—NYFW Essentials I am sharing a few key items that are a MUST for the week ahead.  Take a peek and read on.

NYFW Essentials

Since the polar vortex refuses to leave these Marni beaver mittens, Monki beanie and River Island ankle boots are needed to keep your hands/head warm and feet dry. Use Eos to keep those lips moisturized and bright red with Nars lipstick; stay smelling sweet in Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume to go. A tablet and cellphone (whether Apple or Android) are gadgets that you cannot live without; I mean how else are you suppose to post those selfies? Last but not least a fab tote like this 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli satchel is a perfect way to haul around all of these goodies.  Did you have any other suggestions?  Click below watch the shows live streaming.  Happy Fashion Week!

NYFW—William Okpo F/W 2013

Hola!  Yes NYFW has ended but I have plenty of reviews in store for you. First up is the fun and innovative line—William Okpo.  The designers are super cool sisters Darlene and Lizzie.  This was not a traditional fashion show but a presentation in which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The F/W 2013 collection had muted colors filled with lots of patterns and textures.  It was a mixture of lady-like preppy with button shirts and pencil skirts to casual and sporty with varsity style jackets. My fave piece was the uber-luxe fur jacket (not sure if it is faux) shown in the first pic.  The makeup was fairly simple with thick dark brows and red pouty lips.  I loved that big messy buns ruled the hair for the night!

This line is young and fun…perfect for hipsters!  What are your thoughts?  Do tell.

MFW—Missoni SS2013

Hola!  Hope all is good with ya.  I must say I never understood why we *fashion crowd* always say “fashion week” when we all know it should be fashion MONTH.  It’s start’s with New York, to London, Milan and ending with Paris…whew!  NYFW alone exhausts me yet I can’t wait to travel abroad to shows.  However, today we are featuring Milan Fashion Week‘s own Missoni.  This collection is absolutely gorgeous!  Sequins, beading, contoured bright colors…love! Take a look and let me know what you think.  Enjoy!

2011 Reflections

Hola peeps!  Well here we are the last day of 2011 and it feels so good!  Time to give thanks for all the past blessings and looking forward to the ones to come.  This year has been a whirlwind for SNC but I am so happy that you guys have stuck with me through it all.  I was looking back at pics that I took this year and there are tons that didn’t make it to the blog and/or the facebook fan page *btw if you aren’t a fb fan by now then you are really missing out*.  So I thought why not share them now—a perfect way for you to see some behind the scenes shots at shows, a peek into my personal style and the hair ‘dos that I rock on occassion.

I hope that you enjoy my reflecting back and urge you to share some of your moments as well.  What worked or didn’t work for you this year—fashion or hair?  Don’t be shy the only way that we can learn from one another is to share the experience.  Here’s to a great 2012 year head!!
