Hola! Happy Friday to you all! Did you know that today is a holiday? Well it is National Handbag Day! Deemed by the ladies behind the Purse Blog, today is a day to celebrate something that almost all women love…handbags. I must say that I have always loved a fab bag (and shoe) over clothes any day which is why this is one of my new favorite holidays.
I have selected a few of my favorite bags that I would totally splurge on it if my bank account allowed it. Featured a crossbody, backpack, clutch, bucketbag, a tote and more…there is something for the handbag lover in all of us! Let me know your thoughts and don’t forget to share what bag you plan to rock today. Enjoy NHD!
Hola peeps! It has been awhile and I’ve truly missed you guys! Lately my life has been a little hectic and all I can think about is getting away before summer passes me by (hence today’s post). Well today’s sass—Sporty Chic Travels is my inspiration to get my “ish” together and head out of town! I think that this is a cute look that will keep you comfy whether traveling by plane, train, car or even bus. Keep it simple in an oversized jersey dress that screams ‘Adios’, Ray-Ban sunnies to block the haters and gadgets to help pass the time!
Hola! Fashion designer Michael Kors just joined the billionaire’s club. Yesterday shares of his company, Michael Kors Holdings Ltd. (KORS) rose 17.3 percent to close at $89.91 the highest in almost two years. The newfound billionaire owns about 2 percent of the company which values at about $390 million. Bloomberg’s data states that “Kors has collected more than $700 million selling stock since its initial public offering in 2011”. Now that is some serious coin!
The sales of his handbags, watches, and footwear are keeping Michael Kors on top! I wish his business nothing but the best, however keep a watchful eye on stocks because we all know what goes up must come down. Thoughts?
Hola peeps! Well it is Wednesday and today I am digging theses fab Summer 2014 sunglasses by Karen Walker. She enlisted Kenya artisans (cutters, tailors, production managers, metal workers and machinists) to model her cool shades and in return they are designing a collection of beaded and screen printed pouches that will be given at point of purchase. This collaboration came about via the UN’S Ethical Fashion Initiative in which they pair up fashion businesses with artisans in Africa and Haiti to help bring about positive change in their communities. Take a peek.
I am loving everything that I see here and moreso the cause behind it. My hat is off to Karen Walker! What are you thoughts on both? Do tell.
Hola! Happy National Handbag Day! What…you didn’t know? Well I am here to tell you about it and to celebrate! The lovely ladies over at PurseBlog came up with the idea to declare today the first annual National Handbag Day. Cool right! As much as I adore clothes my first love has always been a fab handbag (tied with a hot shoe). I have created this set to highlight some popular bags (highs and lows) for the fall season. Which one is your fave?
Hola! Earlier this week I was lucky enough to attend Styled for Fall: Fossil at VOGUE. I must admit I squealed at the thought of going to the Vogue offices (so Carrie Bradshaw-ish)! As soon as I walked in I was warmly greeted and noticed the wonderful display of handbags and accessories. There were pops of color, leopard print and flashes of metallic! Fossil is definitely becoming more fashion forward which is a great move for the brand.
After the presentation we were able to use the clothing they pulled from the VOGUE closet and style them with Fossil accessories. The challenge was: Seeing Spots-accessorize with animal prints, Stack in Style-mix and match bracelets and Heat Things Up-add bold warm hues to your wardrobe. Take a peek at the look I styled and let me know what you think.
This was such a fun event! I wish much more success to Fossil and look forward to attending more events with VOGUE! If you are yearning for more check out Instagram and Twitter using these hashtags #FossilStyle and #FossilatVOGUE. Enjoy!
Hola! Last month I was invited to NanetteLepore’s showroom for a press preview of their Resort 2014 collection and I couldn’t have been happier. I adore the brand and what she represents in the fashion industry. Lepore is one of the few designers that believes in and supports the diminishing Fashion Ave industry here in NYC. Whereas a lot of designers take their production overseas she does her best to make sure that the majority of clothing is USA made *respect*. This collection was vibrant, fun and had a bit of a global influence. There were so many pieces that I wanted that to take home. Take a look for yourself!
