Hola! I am so happy to bring back my weekly posts of WIDW (What I’m Diggin Wednesday) and today I’m digging Adidas Originals Stan Smith Sneakers. I know that this style is a big hit right now amongst bloggers yet I am not and have never been a sneakerhead by any means. However I am definitely feeling these sneaks! They are the perfect mix of casual and cool but can be dressed up if necessary. Take note that these are made of a lightweight nylon not leather unlike the original version. If you are still interested go here to buy. Happy shopping!
Hola! Long time no hair update, however don’t fret this is a quickie. If you read my previous post you know that this NYC winter is no joke and it has contributed to me doing the least to my hair. The motivation that I have in the summertime to switch up my styles and let my curls flourish has been banished by my big faux fur hooded parka. I digress as I can’t do anything about the weather but I can put in a bit more effort with my tresses. Well a few weeks ago I did just that and revisited a tried and true protective style—the braidout.
This is what I did:
- Washed and conditioned my hair
- Applied a water-based leave-in conditioner (Jane Carter Solution Revitalizing Leave-In Conditioner )
- Drenched my tresses with coconut oil
- Sectioned my hair in fours
- Blow dried on low heat followed with a shot of cool air
- Applied Elasta QP Olive Oil & Mango Butter Moisturizer (key product) to each section
- Braided my hair (10 braids)
- Covered with a satin bonnet
- Unraveled in the am (with fingertips that were saturated with coconut oil)
- Fluffed and go!
I was pleased with this style and it lasted throughout the week. The first couple of days I braided my hair each night but towards the end of the week I just slept with the bonnet on and fluffed in the morning. Also I didn’t reapply the Elasta QP daily, these pics are from day 3 and my hair was still very moisturized. So there you have it, easy! What are your thoughts? Better yet what protective style are you rocking this winter? Do tell.
Hola peeps! I know it has been a minute but Friday Sass is back! What better way to set it off than with this set—Layered Up. During the last month and half NYC has been in a deep freeze, with gray skies and snow showers constantly *it sucks*. This ensemble was prepared specifically for the chicas that want to stay warm yet look cute as well.
The essentials to beat this brutal weather is:
1.Faux fur-lined parka
2.Oversized chunky sweater
7.Cashmere-lined leather gloves
9.Large hobo handbag
10.Accessories/makeup to top off the pretty
So there you have it! Are there any items you would add or take off? Share your thoughts peeps and stay warm out there!
Hola peeps! Happy New Year! This is my first post of 2015 and what better way to start it off then with Shape Magazine. We all know what goes down at those holiday parties, dinners and events…food, drinks and more food! Well the uber fab Jada Pinkett-Smith is gracing the January/February 2015 cover and showing us that being in your forties is fab! You cannot deny that she looks hot and is definitely inspiration to all young and old. Take a peek and share your thoughts.
