Hola peeps! Today I am sharing a product review of the new Let’s Jam! Custard Cream Gel. It has been awhile since I have focused on my hair or the products so now is the perfect time. Back in my relaxed days I would use the original Let’s Jam! Gel to keep my edges smooth and it did the job so I was eager to try this on my natural curlz. I stumbled upon the jar in Rite Aid and it was less than $5 so I thought why not.
The product description reads: Ideal for smoothing and controlling ponytails and fly-aways without weighing down hair. Ingredients: Aqua (Water) , Glycerin , Glycine Soja Oil (Soybean Oil) , Polysorbate 80 , Triethanolamine , Oleth-2 , Carbomer , Phenoxyethanol , Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2 , Fragrance , VP , Dimethylaminoethylmethacrylate Copolymer , Polyquaternium-39 , Limonene , Sodium Benzoate , Methylisothiazolinone , Hydroxycitronellal , Geraniol , Amyl Cinnamal , Linalool , CI 17200 (Red 33)
I started off with my usual wash and condition. Then I lightly spritzed my hair with my “refresh mix” (h2o x essentials oils) for a little moisture. As you can see from the pic above my hair is multi-textured—frizzy, wavy, kinky, curly, and coily. I know some naturals do and don’t like to hair type, I could care less about that because I feel my hair doesn’t really fit any of them anyway…lol. To me my hair is weird and I sometimes gets frustrated with it (yet I do adore my curlz), I truly think that I need a cut and that will solve most issues…we shall see.
Next I worked in the Let’s Jam! Custard Cream Gel throughout my hair. I didn’t make perfect sections nor used a brush; I basically grabbed a handful of hair and used my fingers to saturate the product into the my tresses. Sorry I don’t have an after pic but once all in I let my hair air dry. To my surprise my curlz were soft and touchable with a light hold.
Pros: tremendous slip, no sticky residue and tremendous shine!
Cons: takes forever to dry and the scent isn’t my fave
Overall rate: 7 (scale of 1-10)
I like this product yet I will definitely have to give it another try. The price point won’t break the bank, the ingredients are ok and it pretty much did what it said it would. My thoughts to you give it a try! Will you?
