Hola! I hope all is good. Does your hair feel dry or need an extra boost of moisture? Well, why not give yourself a much-needed hot oil treatment. I know as naturals we tend to be on the search for a magic potion of some sort that will always keep our hair moisturized and shiny. I cannot think of a better way to do that then with oils. My hair is fairly dense, thick and highly porous so even after washing/conditioning it still tends to have a bit of dryness to it—ick! Lately I have been using Moroccan Oil immediately after my wash so that it can seal in moisture and add a bit of softness to my hair before styling. I was browsing the site carefair.com and this is what they had to say about types of hot oil treatments:
Types of Hot Oil Treatments
There are many products available on the market for hot oil treatments. They can also be purchased as oils and then heated and used in the hair. Generally natural essential oils are the best ones to use in hot oil treatments as they can do the best to damage dry and weak hair. Many other types of oils are too big, as smaller oils are needed so that they will be able to penetrate the shaft of the hair. The larger oils do not penetrate the hair and actually cause buildup, which can only lead to more dry and damaged hair. Some of the more natural oils that are popular for hot oil treatments are olive oil, jasmine oil, and jojoba oil.
This is all great info! Do you give your hair hot oil treatments, if so what essential oils do you use? Do tell…
