Hola peeps! Happy Friday! Today’s sass—American Dream is all about sleek, sex appeal. This set was fun to create because it features gorgeous model Joan Smalls and the most American backdrop of all—NYC! I love a jumpsuit and whenever I put one on I feel uber-chic! There is no way that I can explain it but it is just one of my fave looks to rock. It is perfect because they can be worn all season long and dressed up or down. All you need is fab accessories to make it pop and you are on your way out the door. On that note go out, have fun and sass it up this weekend…enjoy!
Hola peeps! Well we have made it to Friday…all I can say is what a week. To continue my support for my beloved city today’s sass is titled—Fall NY Style. This is a look that I would rock out for date night with the beau. Take a peek and enjoy!
**Please continue to support the efforts of the American Red Cross in helping the victims of Hurricane Sandy, go here to donate. Thank you!
Hola peeps! I hope you all are blessed and safe. Sorry for the delay in posts it is just that with the hit of the hurricane I haven’t felt much like posting fashion or hair news. I promise to slowly get back in the groove of things. In the meantime, I would like to remind you that help is needed not only here in NYC but also those affected by the devastation in Haiti, Cuba and the Dominican Republic so if you are able to donate please go to http://www.redcross.org/charitable-donations. Thanks for all of your support!
Hola peeps! I received an email about Vintage Shaun’s upcoming blowout sale and almost forgot to share with you guys. If you are in NYC you should definitely come out this weekend to get your vintage shopping on! If you don’t know now ya know haha! Check out the deets…
Check out the shop
Hola! I hope that your weekend is off to a great start! Relaxing, cleaning and catching up on emails/SNC work is going to keep me busy for the next few days…all good :o) Today I’m sharing two pics of naturals (atleast they appear to be) I spotted on Refinery29. I adore this site because it has a bit of everything—fashion, travel, shopping, news and as of late hair! Check out these two chicas with not only gorgeous tresses but cool style as well.
Hola peeps! Slowly but surely posts from fashion week will begin to trickle in. However, first up is FNO! I dipped in and out of a few stores, I just couldn’t handle the madness. NYC was filled with fashionistas with smiles on their faces, shopping bags on their shoulders and cocktails in their hands.
After work I sprinted to Lord & Taylor to see if I could catch a glimpse of Solange DJ’ing…FAIL!! I searched every floor and either I was too early or too late….no sighting at all! In the meantime I was able to snap a few pics of designer- Vince Camuto and editor Suze Yalof Schwartz to name a few. As well as some crowd shots of the mayhem.

After leaving Lord & Taylor I then trekked it up to 34th Street to Macy’s. I knew that it would be crazy but I didn’t expect to be at a standstill. Walking was nearly impossible in there! Trying to avoid the first floor chaos I went upstairs and stumbled upon the smooth sounds of violinist Miri Ben-Ari. I adore her gorgeous curls. Check out the shots…

The last stop of the night was Sephora and as the other stores—it was crazy crowded. Music was blasting, make-up sessions were going on and shoppers were snatching up items by the bundle. Here is a snapshot:

So there you have it, overall the night was fun but I can do without the madness. I glanced in a few other stores but didn’t take pics. I think next year I will try a different neighborhood like the Meatpacking District or MAYBE Soho **I heard the crowds were riot size there though!** instead of sticking to Midtown. Oh and guess what—I didn’t shop at all. Shocking I know! How was your FNO? Where did you go, what did you buy? Tell all…
Hola peeps! Let the games begin—HAPPY FASHION WEEK! Ok, be forewarned and bear with me as posts may be coming in a bit slow the next couple of days. Between my day gig, NYFW and SNC events I am a very busy bee. Look out for a post coming soon as I attended the IFB conference yesterday and is was fab! I have lots to share with you guys. Tonight I am aiming to hit up a few spots for Fashion’s Night Out. What you are plans for tonight and all of fashion week?

Hola! Time has flown by and fashion week is finally upon us. I have been taking mental notes and pics of what I need, what to wear, and what to bring along with me as I go from work, to a fashion show, and then to an event. Sadly I have not worked out the clothing that much, as normal it will depend on my mood and the weather of course **RAIN is in the forecast**.
However, my hair has been on my mind and the essentials that I will need in my bag to ensure no epic fails when it comes to my curlz the next few weeks. Most likely I will be starting out with a WNG, then on to an up-do and finishing off with a stretched style **hopefully**. No matter the style these items are definitely going in my NYFW Hair Kit:
**Bobby pins–helps with fly-aways, failed twist-outs and creates a flawless up-do in seconds
**Banana clip–buns, puffs, and side-swept cascading curls can all be styled using this one item
**Mini spray bottle–filled with a mixture of h20 and essentials oils to maintain moisture
**Gel/pomade–travel size is enough to tame unruly tresses in a slicked out bun or flat twists
**Mini brush–used to smooth edges out if needed
**Decorative headband or hair adornment–just in case all else fails and you need something to remain cute and a bit in tact (click the pic to see more on etsy)
I hope that this list of essentials helps you out whether it be during fashion week or any day of the week. You never know when you just might need one of these items. What do you think….would you add anything else? Do tell…
Hola peeps! Last Saturday night I dipped out and headed to the Lower East Side to White Rabbit for the 24 Blogazine Party. This fun event was hosted by founder Vanessa Flowers. Not only was this event to celebrate all that 24 Blogazine has to offer but also to support (PCOS) Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Here is a snippet of what webmd has to say about this disease:
Polycystic ovary syndrome (say “pah-lee-SIS-tik OH-vuh-ree SIN-drohm”) is a problem in which a woman’s hormones are out of balance. It can cause problems with your periods and make it difficult to get pregnant. PCOS may also cause unwanted changes in the way you look. If it is not treated, over time it can lead to serious health problems, such as diabetes and heart disease. Polycystic ovary syndrome (or PCOS) is common, affecting as many as 1 out of 15 women. Often the symptoms begin in the teen years. Treatment can help control the symptoms and prevent long-term problems.
I had such a fun time and I love that it was for a great cause as well. A portion of the proceeds were donated to The Jewish Hospital Cholesterol and Metabolism Center to help with research and treatment. To find out more visit www.jewishhospitalcincinnati.com to help or donate.
