NYFW—William Okpo F/W 2013

Hola!  Yes NYFW has ended but I have plenty of reviews in store for you. First up is the fun and innovative line—William Okpo.  The designers are super cool sisters Darlene and Lizzie.  This was not a traditional fashion show but a presentation in which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The F/W 2013 collection had muted colors filled with lots of patterns and textures.  It was a mixture of lady-like preppy with button shirts and pencil skirts to casual and sporty with varsity style jackets. My fave piece was the uber-luxe fur jacket (not sure if it is faux) shown in the first pic.  The makeup was fairly simple with thick dark brows and red pouty lips.  I loved that big messy buns ruled the hair for the night!

This line is young and fun…perfect for hipsters!  What are your thoughts?  Do tell.

NYFW—Mara Hoffman Fall/Winter 2013

Hola!  People think that NY’ers go hard, please the fashion crowd goes harder!  Even Nemo the Blizzard couldn’t stop day 3 of NYFW from going down. One of my fave designers–Mara Hoffman showed today. She never misses the mark, as I want every piece that came down the runway.  You can always expect her collection to be fun and filled with colorful ethnic prints and patterns.  Hoffman states– ”I wanted to embrace what we do best with this collection and give our girls what they love most – color, print and wearable yet unique silhouettes.”  She definitely achieved that, don’t you agree?  Enjoy the show!

NYFW—Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2013

Hola!  Today is the 2nd day of NYFW and my fave show today was Rebecca Minkoff **no shocker here**.  If you follow this site then you know that I am a big fan of RM and this collection did not disappoint.  Chunky knits, bright colors, prints, and wild patterns ruled the runway!  I also love that she also had a live band which kept the mood upbeat and moving.  Take a peek and let me know your thoughts.  Enjoy!

NYFW—BCBG Fall 2013

Hola!  Yesterday New York Fashion Week started off with a bang!  One of my fave shows was BCBG, tons of inspiration for Fall 2013 as well as items that can be worn in the blustery winter weather now. Layers were in abundance-sweaters over dresses over pants and more!  Fur, leather and beanies all took center stage as well.  The juxtaposition of it all works and I am loving it!

Max Azria‘s design team use of prints paired with the right colors and textures brings the clothing to life.  This collection shows you exactly how to get more wear out of your summer items in the midst of winter.  It makes me want to take a risk by pairing my summer frock and leather pants.  Take a peek at the show and share your thoughts.

As usual stay tuned right here as I will continue to bring you coverage of my fave shows.  You can also tune into the live stream here as well.  Happy Fashion Week!

NYFW SS13—Cushnie et Ochs

Hola!  NYC is hustling and bustling with models, designers, and style enthusiast hungry with fashion week mania.  Here is one of my fave designer duos—Cushnie et Ochs.  The SS13 collection was heavy in black/white pieces with a dash of blue in the mix.  I really like the simplicity of each piece—the long lines and cutout silhouettes are gorge!  A job well done by the designers, as we all can look forward to contemporary elegance as the tone for next Spring/Summer.  What are your thoughts?

Fashion’s Night Out—NYC Guide

Hola peeps!  I hope that you had a long and wonderful holiday weekend!  As for me I attempted to relaxed yet I was busy prepping for fashion week (Sept 6-13th).  There are so many shows, events, parties and guess what we will be right there giving you full coverage.  If you want to stay in the know then you MUST follow SNC on twitter/instagram/facebook as that is where I will be sharing info up to the minute.  The first major event going down is FNO (Fashion’s Night Out).  The only night where shopping and boozing is expected.  It all started here in NYC just 3 years ago but it has grown into worldwide phenomenon.  One of my fave sites—Refinery29 has put together a massive NYC FNO guide…check it out!

Juicy Couture
Where: Juicy Couture, 650 5th Avenue (at 52nd street); 212-796-3360.
Time: 6 to 9 p.m.
Why:It wouldn’t be Fashion Week without the models, which is why Juicy is highlighting them as the focal point of their FNO party. From 6 to 7 p.m. Karlie Kloss will be in the store to take photos with partygoers. And these aren’t just your average pictures — they’ll be taken by Vogue’s Ivan Shaw.

Prieto & Gansevoort
Where: Gansevoort Hotel, 18 9th Avenue (at Gansevoort street); 212-206-6700.
Time: starting at 6 p.m.
Why: Not only will stylists from Prieto Select be offering hair and makeup touch-ups, but they’ll also be giving complementary massages — is there anyone who doesn’t need to go into the chaos that is Fashion Week with a massage?

Free People
Where: Free People locations throughout Manhattan.
Time: 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Why: The first 50 shoppers to show up at each location will be privy to a Free People iPhone case and tote bag for, uh, free. You can also enter to win a night at the Dream Downtown, including dinner for two at Marble Lane. You’ll bring us, right?

Matt Bernson
Where: Matt Bernson, 20 Harrison street (between Greenwich and Staple streets); 212-219-4030.
Time: 6 to 10 p.m.
Why: This is the first event to take place at Matt Bernson’s Tribeca boutique. The event will include NailEZEE fashion manicures, as well as a braid bar from Joico. Be sure to get there early — the first 100 guests will receive a gift.

Saks Fifth Avenue
Where: Saks Fifth Avenue, 611 Fifth Avenue (between 49th and 50th streets); 212-753-4000.
Time: 6 to 10 p.m.
Why: Aaaaand the award for the most star-studded event goes to Saks Fifth Avenue. You can meet Oscar de la Renta, get an autograph from New York Knick Amar’e Stoudemire, meet Darren Criss of Glee, hear Vanessa Carlton perform live, get fashion advice from Erin Fetherson, and, believe it or not, the list doesn’t end there. This is the place to meet and greet all those names you normally just read about from afar.

Missoni
Where: Missoni, 426 West Broadway (between Spring and Prince streets); 212-431-6500.
Time: 6 to 10 p.m.
Why: For one night only, M Missoni will be selling stylish headphones, available in four different colors. At just $25, they’re an affordable slice of the luxe brand, and are only available at FNO.

When: 6 to 10 p.m.
Why: Alexis Bittar will have a karaoke machine set up, which sounded a bit scary at first, but they’ll be giving out $50 gift certificates to anyone brave enough to showcase their vocals. That bribe paired with one or two of the yummy cocktails they’re serving up,? You can find us belting out some Living on a Prayer.

Blow, The New York Blow Dry Bar

Rebecca Minkoff is celebrating her fall collection with a “Girl’s Night Out,” complete with a ponytail bar, a smoky eye station, a booth to make your own “arm party,” and manicures with nail art inspired by the fall collection.

Marchesa

Time: 6 to 10 p.m.
Why: It’s no secret that we love taking pictures on our phone, but when it helps us win a $500 gift certificate to Vince Camuto? Well, we didn’t know we could love something that much. Vince Camuto has teamed up with the app Snapette for FNO. All you have to do is download the app and “snap” your favorite piece from the fall collection. Whoever receives the most “Love Its” wins the gift card.

When: 6 to 10 p.m.

Time: 6 to 10 p.m.
Why: This. Is. Major. This is the red bullseye’s first FNO, and they will be showcasing the pieces from The Shops at Target before they launch in stores on September 9. Aside from sartorial treats, Target will be serving up ice cream and other fun snacks.

Where: Fossil, 1585 Broadway (between 47th and 48th streets); 212-445-1021.
Time: 6 to 11 p.m.

I Made This… In addition to getting the chance to chat with Erica, the first 50 guests will receive a complimentary piece from Fossil. Homer Soda will be served as DJ NSR spins the night away.

But wait there is more…..go here now!

Couture Fashion Week A/W 2012

Hola!  Couture Fashion Week was held at the fab Waldorf-Astoria Hotel over the weekend.  I attended the 8pm show on Saturday night.  The Waldorf oozes glam and it was the perfect setting for the show.  The designers featured were Jet Art Designs by Princess Tarinan Von Anhalt and Andres Aquino; both were really awesome!  There were lots of usage of color, rich fabrics/textures, and a big lean towards the arts.  I think that the artistic style of Jet Art Designs denim can take you from glam to casual-cool.  The uber-luxe collection by Aquino is reserved for your most fab event—when you want to dress to impress.

Enjoy the snaps below as this is just the beginning, we have many more pics and videos to come.  Much thanks to my partner in fashion J Stynze Entertainment for all of the images.  Stay tuned!
