Sick of the Red lip? Try Orange instead…

Hola!  I don’t know about you guys but I am getting a little sick of the “red lip”.  It seems that every blogger, fashionista and young/mature women has been rocking it hard all Fall and Winter.  Don’t get me wrong I did too but I am ready to let it go and move forward.  Up next—Orange!

I am loving this editorial in the April issue of W Magazine that features Carolyn Murphy with a pouty orange lip.  Actually it is called Stay Coral by Estee Lauder and I want it!  This cheeky color is perfect for Spring and will look great against neons, florals and neutrals.  So will you be ditching your Fall fave and going for Orange?  Do tell…

Iris Apfel for MAC

Hola!  Can you believe that the fab and always fashionable Iris Apfel is 90?  Age is definitely just a number for her as she recently teamed up with MAC cosmetics to launch makeup that reaches the masses of every age group.  In the past MAC has collaborated with Lil Kim, Mary J. Blige and Nicki Minaj to name a few; however it is good that they aren’t ageists in any way and relating to all of their customers.  Items for your lips, eyes and nails are named after birds and range from $14 to $23.  I am loving that fierce red lip that she is rocking.  All sounds good to me, will you be checking out the line on January 5th?

For more deets check the source here.  Enjoy!

Mintbox Blogger Partner Program Event

UD - Theater BarHola!  Now that you have the background info and know how to sign up for Mintbox, it is time to share some pics.  On Tuesday night I attended their Blogger Partner Program Mixer at Theater Bar in Tribeca.  The place was filled with bloggers mingling all while sipping on special drinks **ask for the Mintbox you won’t be sorry**, getting made over with NARS makeup, and hair done by ARROJO stylist.  The highlights of the night were the giveaways—$300 gift card to BeautyBar.com and a moss-green Rebecca Minkoff MAB bag!  I wasn’t one of the lucky winners **boo** yet I didn’t spoil my night.

Thanks to NARS, ARROJO and the Mintbox team for gifting us with makeup goodies, hair products and credit to spend!  I must say that it was also great to finally meet some of the ladies from the NYC Fashion Bloggers Group.  This event was fab!

Flawless Face and Hair—Kourtney Kardashian

Hola!  I hope that your Saturday is going great.  Kourt was recently on ‘Extra‘ with Mario Lopez and she looked amazing!  Her makeup was flawless—smooth skin, long lashes and a pretty red pout!  Since being natural I don’t straighten with heat anymore; however seeing a pic of her luscious  mane (even if some are added pieces) is when I miss my long straight hair just a wee bit ;o(  Needless to say I think that she looks fab….don’t you agree?

Are Organic Beauty Products Worth The Price?

Hola!  I hope that your Saturday is going great.  I was checking out the site LearnVest and came across this article Are Organic Beauty Products Worth The Price? which has great info about organic beauty products.  As I have mentioned before I don’t know much about makeup but I do love BareEscentuals and products to maintain my oily skin.  This article is a great read as it explains the difference between organic and not, costs, and the positive effects that it has on the environment.  Also be sure to browse the site as they have tons of good info.  Enjoy!

Need a Quickie?

I Just had a QuickieHola!  I knew that the title of the post would reel you in..lol.  Get your mind out of the gutter, I am talking about a quickie from Bare Escentuals. You may be seeing  their Pink Quickie Van from their “Tour of America 2010″ in a city near you soon.  They will be hitting up the East, West, Mid-West, and the Dirrty South (haha..j/k) giving “Quickies” which is a 5 min flawless make-under for FREE!

I have to admit I’m not much of a makeup chica(hence the blog being about fashion/hair) but I do have go to items that I use on the reg which tends to be Sephora Precious Pink lip gloss and Maybelline black eyeliner (used to keep my brows in check).  If I want to go all out I will play up my lashes with mascara but for the most part that is it.  However, the last few months my routine has changed a bit because I started using BE products and they are fab!  To me their products helps to conceal imperfections without feeling heavy, allowing the skin to breathe.  My skin is oily and prone to breakouts so I am very particular about what I use on my face. I use:

*MATTE SPF 15 Foundation in Medium Tan

*Mineral Veil- Tinted

*Full Flawless Application Face Brush

Remember everyone’s  skin is different so you may have a different reaction with BE products (in other words don’t blame me ;o) Do you wear makeup if so what brand?  If not, why?  What is your skincare routine?  The questions could go on and on…do tell…
