Hola! I hope that you all are enjoying your weekend. I had to share this editorial spread of Elle magazine‘s Jan 2014 cover with the gorgeous supermodel Joan Smalls. Most recently she was ranked the world’s number one model by Models.com. Wow…that is such a major accomplishment at the young age of 25!
I am happy to see magazines returning to their roots and putting models on covers instead of celebs, musicians, etc. It also makes me ecstatic that Elle chose a Puerto Rican woman especially since the fashion industry has been getting tons of backlash about overlooking women of color. Scroll down to peek at the fab pics.

Hola! If you haven’t heard of or seen the likes of the beautiful Lupita Nyong’o then you have clearly been living under a rock. She is definitely a rising style and fashionista who can be seen in the famed film ’12 Years a Slave’. Lupita graced the pages of DuJour.com donning fresh threads in shades of white and blue. Go here to read the full article and to get all the deets on the looks. She is simply radiant, don’t you agree?
She is wearing a Hermes bomber jacket, a Roberto Cavalli cotton and crocheted lace maxi dress by Roberto, mini ipanema drop earrings and a Roberto Coin ring.

Hola! Here is why you need to pick up the Dec 2013/Jan 2014 issue of Ladies Home Journal magazine—First Lady Michelle Obama. I mean she just exudes elegance and grace. Now this is a cover done right (take note LUCKY–no shade) because it is simply beautiful!
I must also add that LHJ has really step up their game in the mag world.. Last month I had the opportunity to attend their Get Social conference which was very informative. Don’t sleep on them and go pick up the issue. I definitely plan to. Keep up the good work LHJ!

Hola! The gorgeous Kelly Rowland covers the November issue of FASHIZBLACK magazine. The issue hits the stands on Nov. 8th in France and two weeks later in the US and UK. Thoughts? Do tell.

Hola! There are no words for this cover of Africa Forbes Life but gorgeous. This is their very first issue and the beautiful model Alek Wek brings it! I mean flawless skin, perfect bone structure and lucscious features. Who say’s black isn’t beautiful? Hummmm they lied! BOSS!! Thoughts?
Hola peeps! One of my fave dapper dudes covers the November 2013 issue of Vanity Fair, I’m talking about none other than Jay-Z. People tend to speculate a great deal about him, his career and marriage but all I care about is his strive, perseverance, and dedication to his craft. I respect the fact that he was able to go from the mean streets of Brooklyn, to world-renowned hip hop artist and now a savvy businessman. How could anyone hate on that, right?
In this issue he talks about how much Blue Ivy digs his music, how he wooed Beyoncé and his undying love of the rap game after all these years. Check it all out here. Enjoy!

Hola peeps! I stumbled upon New African Woman Issue 21 with the gorgeous Shingai Shoniwa in an editorial spread. All I can say is that the images are simply breathtaking, you must see them for yourself. Also if you aren’t familiar with this magazine then you are missing out! The continent of Africa is thriving with creativity and beauty!
If you want to read this issue then check it out here. Enjoy!
Hola! Happy hump day! I love that i-D magazine always takes risks in their editorial shoots and this one is no different. This spread features Ajak Deng, Grace Bol and Fernando Cabral all donning Comme des Garçons. In my opinion these three models always gives good face and brings it in any campaign that they are in. Take a peek at their dark features, smooth skin and projected eyes—love! Job well done to all!

Hola! I saw this circulating all over the web this morning and had to share. Doesn’t Oprah look fab on the cover her magazine? She is pulling off the big hair and smile all with a bit of sass! I must admit I’ve never purchased O magazine but since this issue talks about HAIR I just might. Will you be picking it up? Do tell.
Hola! As of late there has been several shakeups in the magazine business; Eva Chen is the new editor of Lucky, Kristine Welker was recently named vice president, publisher and chief revenue officer of Dr. Oz magazine and now Shiona Turini is going to Cosmo. If you do not know who she is then you have been living under a fashion rock!
Turini’s professional resume features some of the most sought after magazine jobs in industry–she was fashion market and beauty director at CR Fashion Book. Previous to that she held the position of accessories director at Teen Vogue and before that her role was accessories market editor at W. Wow—I live my fashion life vicariously through her! She is always on the scene and being papped in the finest digs, I just know that she will attribute a cool new vibe to the magazine.
I can’t wait to see what she has in store as it may make me an avid Cosmo reader once again. Congrats Shiona!
