Hola! Happy National Handbag Day! What…you didn’t know? Well I am here to tell you about it and to celebrate! The lovely ladies over at Purse Blog came up with the idea to declare today the first annual National Handbag Day. Cool right! As much as I adore clothes my first love has always been a fab handbag (tied with a hot shoe). I have created this set to highlight some popular bags (highs and lows) for the fall season. Which one is your fave?
To show love for your precious bags share a pic on twitter or instagram using #nationalhandbagday. Check me out @sassncurlz on IG to see what bag I’m shouting out today. Enjoy!
Hola! Earlier this week I was lucky enough to attend Styled for Fall: Fossil at VOGUE. I must admit I squealed at the thought of going to the Vogue offices (so Carrie Bradshaw-ish)! As soon as I walked in I was warmly greeted and noticed the wonderful display of handbags and accessories. There were pops of color, leopard print and flashes of metallic! Fossil is definitely becoming more fashion forward which is a great move for the brand.
Loving these colors of the Sydney Satchel, Memoir Novella Flap, Memoir Haircalf Diary Clutch and Sydney Shopper.
We were getting schooled on the functionality of each bag.
This was one of my faves—Memoir Biography Satchel!
The accessories didn’t disappoint either—Chelsey-silver and Florence Rose Gold watches.
After the presentation we were able to use the clothing they pulled from the VOGUE closet and style them with Fossil accessories. The challenge was: Seeing Spots-accessorize with animal prints, Stack in Style-mix and match bracelets and Heat Things Up-add bold warm hues to your wardrobe. Take a peek at the look I styled and let me know what you think.
I opted for a sophisticated black and white ensemble paired with the cheetah print Memoir Biography Satchel, stacked bracelets and Georgia Coral Leather watch.
It’s all in the details!
This was such a fun event! I wish much more success to Fossil and look forward to attending more events with VOGUE! If you are yearning for more check out Instagram and Twitter using these hashtags #FossilStyle and #FossilatVOGUE. Enjoy!
Hola! Last month I was invited to Nanette Lepore’s showroom for a press preview of their Resort 2014 collection and I couldn’t have been happier. I adore the brand and what she represents in the fashion industry. Lepore is one of the few designers that believes in and supports the diminishing Fashion Ave industry here in NYC. Whereas a lot of designers take their production overseas she does her best to make sure that the majority of clothing is USA made *respect*. This collection was vibrant, fun and had a bit of a global influence. There were so many pieces that I wanted that to take home. Take a look for yourself!
I love that these separates can be mixed and matched—taking you from the beach to poolside bar. I need this for my upcoming trip to Costa Rica!
Rhinestones and snakeskin print glams up a slip on flat. This is perfect for the beach, pool or shopping around while on vacation!
Who doesn’t like a floral print? Well from spring, to summer and now into resort you can rock them proudly. Peep the detail of the exposed zipper on this dress—sweet but sassy!
Jazz up your look with this gorgeous white lace blazer. I adore this because it is easy to wear with so many of the pieces in this collection.
The use of blues mixed with global prints/patterns/textures are perfect!
Fab totes and handbags in cobalt blue mixed with patterns!
White done right! I want this leather motorcycle jacket!
The texture of this lightweight jacket is just perfect. The coral color looks great on every skin tone too!
Head out in a cute A-line dress. It is fun and flirty without showing too much!
The iridescent trend is carried over into resort and it is showing up in accessories. This heel and handbag combo is one of the best hands down!
Uplift a simple dress with a fierce pump or belt. Love!

Hola! A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend a press preview of Jade & Jasper Fall/Winter 2013/2014 collection. In 2001 a passionate designer created a collection of jewelry for woman to express their unique style; she continued designing for large companies but grew tired and branched out on her own. Fast forward to 2011 and Jade & Jasper the company was born. Their mission statement explains it all— “Jade & Jasper’s mission is to delight you with our unique and quality fashion jewelry and allow you to add spark to your wardrobe.” I like the sound of that and you can get these fab jewels at great prices! The following new collection ranges from $18 to $158. Take a peek!
All of the collections are great but my personal fave is Free Spirit. It fits my personal style as I love shiny, gaudy (in a good way) and chunky jewels. Mixed materials along with big colorful stones create a bit of a bohemian vibe but is still pulled together. The best part is this set can be dressed up with a cocktail dress or paired down with a white tee, boyfriend jeans and strappy heels.
Free Spirit Bib Necklace $98
Soaring Sparrow Bracelet $39
Soaring Sparrow Studs $24
If you would like to see more images of the collection go here or feel free to spy on my instagram page *I went crazy with the pics*. You can’t go wrong because there is something for everyone regardless of age, style or class. I challenge you to stand out from the crowd and express your femininity with Jade & Jasper. Now go shop!
Hola peeps! Happy Friday and Summer solstice! Today’s sass is all about being summertime fine and showing it off. The Hawaiian tropics was my inspiration hence the bright colors, bold pints and fun baubles. This look makes me want to grab my passport and head to the islands! Thoughts…is it too much gaudiness or not enough? Do tell!
Hola! I’m still on my quest to grow out my layers so I am trying everything to spruce up my usual WnG without too much manipulation. Therefore I’ve been experimenting with hair accessories. Turbans, headbands, hats and bows in fun colors, prints and patterns have all been added to my arsenal. This is very unusual for me as I normally don’t like to wear things on my head but I thought why not try something different. I must admit I am digging it! Take a peek at my pics and let me know what you think.
Do wear hair accessories? If so what is your fave way to adorn your curlz?
Hola! Fashion mega brand Louis Vuitton has a new addition to the family—Noé BB. The original Noé bag was created in 1932 and was designed for a champagne vintner who wanted a carryall for his valuable bottles. Years later the bags can be seen on the arm of stars, fashion icons and models; the Noé BB will serve that same purpose yet in a smaller size and longer cross-body strap. Don’t worry you will still be able to carry your essentials but won’t be weighed down with the size.
They come in the signature canvas monogram and epi leather colors. If you are interested get on the list now because they will be available in May! Prices are available upon request, (866) VUITTON. Happy shopping!
Hola peeps! I hope that you all had a great holiday and survived the Black Friday madness. Please forgive me for being M.I.A. lately but work, traveling and to top it off being sick…my last week has been crazy. I am trying to get back on track. Here are a few pics to show you guys what I have been up to lately. Enjoy!
I was traveling on amtrak all weekend…I hit up 5 cities in 4 states all in 2 1/2 days…no wonder why I am sick!
My sister’s natural ‘do (yes this is all her hair, none added)–her line sister did an awesome job on her hair.
All prepped and ready for my sister’s big day! That’s my little niece—the flower girl. Oh and we are all natural chicas!
Close-up of my wedding day ‘do. A high bun was the way to go!
My cool find right in my mom’s jewelry box. You know I had to have it!
On the rails again…amtrak!
Hola peeps! It’s that time of year again—Rebecca Minkoff sample sale! If you are a follower of SNC then you know just how much I adore all things that she designs. The handbags are beautifully crafted, the clothing/shoes are always on trend yet timeless and now jewelry has been added to her roster. I mean what’s not to love! So will you be hitting up the sample sale next week for a new bag? I just may see you there
Hola! I stumbled upon these unique Silver-Plated Bronze Phalanx/Bone Rings on my new fave site The Cools. It is a very cool *pun intended* exclusive marketplace where you can buy/sell/browse all types of items from fashion to photography. I spotted this set of 3 rings and instantly fell for them. I like the artistic/edgy look and the best part is that they are adjustable! Nice…no need to worry about getting the right size. Enough of my raving…Do U Like?
